Dr. Bruce’s Urban Promise Model is mainly concerned with identifying, training, and equipping emerging leaders with the purpose of preparing emerging leaders to initiate, develop, and sustain Christian-based youth development organizations and to seed their new ministries as they serve vulnerable children and teens in our world’s most under-resourced communities (UrbanPromise). This means that Urban Promise identifies prospective leaders across nations of the world, then trains and equips them with the needed knowledge to tackle specific problems troubling their respective nations. Using Crystal Lens Impact Africa (Nigeria) and MercyCare (Malawi) as a case study regarding how their ministry website speaks of what their organizations are doing which aligns with Dr. Bruce’s Urban Promise Model, I realized that their programs are rooted in quality education, spiritual growth, leadership skills, career development, and life success transformation; directed towards kids and young people to help them escape the dangers lurking in their communities while providing a safe creative place for the youths where they could have access to better opportunities and quality education that would enable to positively impact their own community.
